So, my Uncle shows up at my house last week. He walks up, hands me a guitar case, and says, “I got you something.” Turns out that “something” is a 1989-90 Japanese Fender HMT. My Uncle got it 5 years ago and it has not been played since then. So he decided to give it to me so that it could get some use. The guitar is totally hip and has a very unique and elegant look to it. I personally love it. Not to mention, it plays amazing. I find that it is easier to play faster licks on it because the neck is just so smooth and comfortable.
There is a Fender Lace Sensor pick up in the neck and a Piezo acoustic pick up under the saddle. One of the three knobs controls the blend between the pick ups. So you can either have one or you have half and half. It is pretty sick! It is actually having some electronic problems right now so I need to take it to a guitar tech to fix her up, but it should be an easy fix. I can’t wait to start using this thing! It is right up there with my Gretsch as far as feel and playability goes.
